Fruit Tree Grafting
Last Revised: Jan 29th, 2025
Event Description
Graftage is the joining of a scion (bud or shoot) of the desired fruit tree cultivar to a plant with an established root system (rootstock). Knowledge of graftage is necessary for nurserymen and fruit tree producers. It is also a great hobby for backyard gardeners. During this hands-on workshop, our guest presenter, Stacy White, will demonstrate the best procedures for completing a successful graft. Stacy White is an Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Whitley County.
Notes
Apple and pear rootstock can be ordered at the Laurel County Extension Office for $2 each. Call 864-4167 to place your order.
