Agriculture and Natural Resources program provides non-formal education in the areas of agricultural production, homeowner plantings, and natural resource utilization. Specific programs include information on food production, farm business management, marketing and processing agricultural products, natural resource management and home lawn and garden information. We address issues dealing with environmental stewardship, the rural-urban interface, and value-added enterprises.

      Tuesday, October 17, 2017 - Grazing Conference

The annual Grazing conference will be held at the Fayette County Extension office in Lexington from 7:45 am until 4:15 pm. The topics will include the science, theory and practice of weed grazing; emerging technologies in weed control; New Zealand perspectives; and the roles of mixed-species grazing, herbicides, and soil fertility and  grazing management integrated weed control program. Conference registration is $40 until October 4th and the rates will then increase an addition $10 after that date.  Conference participants can also add on a member to the Kentucky participants can also add on a membership to the Kentucky Forage and Grassland Council to their conference registration for an additional $10, which is a discounted membership rate. The Laurel County Cattlemen will meet on Thursday, November 2nd at 6pm at the Laurel County Cooperative Extension Office. The guest speaker will be the Agriculture Commissioner, Ryan Quarles.
