Thistle Spray Program, April 23
The Kentucky Department of Agriculture has announced that the thistle spray demonstration program will be made available again this year to seven producers in Laurel County.
As part of the program, the Department provides the spray and a representative to assist with operation of the sprayer and mixing of the chemicals for a ten acre plot on each of the seven farms. Up to ten additional acres may be sprayed on each farm if the producer provides the chemicals. The producer must also furnish a water source, tractor and driver on the day of the demonstration. All products used must be labeled and the product label will be strictly followed.
The demonstrations will be conducted on Wednesday, April 23rd. Anyone interested in participating in this program should contact the Laurel County Extension Office as soon as possible. The program is limited to the first seven producers who register.
